The Apple Watch Series 7 is the best, most advanced smartwatch to date. It has a new ECG sensor that can detect a heart attack and a new electrical skin conductance sensor that tracks your stress levels.

The apple watch series 6 is the latest model of Apple Watch. It has a new design, and it also includes an ECG sensor.

CNN —

The Apple Watch Series 7 was introduced in September with the iPhone 13 family, but preorders for the wristwatch are just now available.

The Series 7 doesn’t differ much from the Series 6, and it starts at $399 — but prices vary based on size, case material, and Wi-Fi vs. cellular. Along with the SE (beginning at $279) and Series 3 (starting at $199), the Series 7 replaces the Series 6 as the main choice.

There are many Series 7 choices available, so here are some helpful links:

  • Apple Watch Series 7 41mm GPS (beginning at $399; amazon.com and apple.com) is available in Midnight, Starlight, green, blue, and Product Red.
  • Apple Watch Series 7 45mm (beginning at $429; amazon.com and apple.com) is available in Midnight, Starlight, green, blue, and Product Red.
  • Apple Watch Series 7 41mm GPS + Cellular (beginning at $499; amazon.com and apple.com) is available in Midnight, Starlight, green, blue, and Product Red.
  • Apple Watch Series 7 45mm GPS + Cellular (beginning at $529; amazon.com and apple.com) is available in Midnight, Starlight, green, blue, and Product Red.

If you want a stainless steel Apple Watch, you’ll have to spend a little extra for a 41mm or 45mm size. This Apple Watch is also available in graphite, gold, or silver. Similarly, the stainless steel versions with cellular variants cost $100 extra.

  • Graphite, gold, and silver Apple Watch Series 7 41mm GPS + Cellular Stainless Steel (beginning at $699; amazon.com and apple.com)
  • Graphite, gold, and silver Apple Watch Series 7 45mm GPS Stainless Steel (beginning at $749; amazon.com and apple.com)

The Apple Watch fast charging cable is also available for $29 – bear in mind that this will only fast charge the Series 7 and will charge the prior versions at a regular pace.

APPLE

The Apple Watch Series 7 has a bigger Retina display that extends all the way to the edges. It has a 20% larger display than the Series 6, allowing you to view more – whether it’s a huge text message or a long email. The Apple Watch hasn’t grown any bigger, but the bezels surrounding the display have shrunk to approximately 1.7 millimeters thick to allow additional screen area.

The Series 7 will be available in two sizes: 41mm and 45mm, which reflect the watch’s small and big sizes, respectively. Both of these Apple Watch sizes are approximately a millimeter bigger than prior models. Apple also claims that the display is 70% brighter, making content more vivid and easier to view in low-light situations. Another advantage is that, since it’s an always-on display (meaning the screen never goes dark and important elements are always visible) — a major distinction between the Series 7 and the SE — it should be simpler to look at your wrist for information rather than lifting it.

WatchOS 8 and the general UI have been changed to take use of the bigger display here. Buttons are bigger and simpler to press, and new watch faces that extend to the border of the screen are available. All of the traditional applications have been upgraded to take use of the bigger display, including activity, fitness, messages, phone, calendar, and pictures (e.g., showing more on a screen or the ability to type on a full keyboard). Because it utilizes the same chipset as the Apple Watch Series 6, we anticipate comparable performance in any application. However, we don’t anticipate substantial gains in performance this year.

What’s new about the Apple Watch Series 6 vs. Series 7?

A bigger display implies more glass and a greater surface area, but Apple guarantees a front display that won’t shatter. This will be put to the test, but it should be more resistant to scratches and drops. The Series 7 is also the first Apple Watch to be dust-resistant (IP6X certified), while maintaining the water resistance (WR50 rated) of prior versions.

There are no improvements in terms of health or exercise monitoring. The Apple Watch Series 7 can monitor your activity, heart rate, ECG, detect a fall, and even test blood oxygen levels, much like the Apple Watch Series 6. The Series 7 has the same upgraded sensor as the Series 6, which debuted on the Series 6.

You may assume Apple stuffed a fresh battery inside, but the company still guarantees “all-day” battery life, which translates to about 18 hours. Faster charging, which may provide eight hours of battery life in only eight minutes, is the most important improvement. This is a big improvement over prior versions, and it may be the answer to some customers’ sleep tracking battery problems. Apple will provide this improved charging cable in the package, which will allow for faster charging. However, there is no charging brick provided.

And there’s more good news: all prior Apple Watch bands are now supported. This is a significant benefit, since existing Apple Watch users will not need new bands for the Series 7. The aluminum Series 7 comes in four new colors: Midnight, Starlight, green, blue, and Product Red. Stainless steel versions come in three colors: silver, graphite, and gold.

Apple Watch Series 7 does not seem to be a dramatic departure from past year-over-year updates, as we’ve seen with previous year-over-year refreshes. A bigger display, on the other hand, provides a wider canvas on which to engage with the Apple Watch and discover its many functions. Still, we wish Apple had included some new health features and maybe even a complete makeover. On paper, keeping the $399 starting price while adding a bigger display and quicker charging is appealing — and we’ll be getting our hands on the Series 7 shortly.

So, for whom is this? It’s for someone who wants an Apple Watch with an always-on display and the most health functions, without having tried it out. Them who can do without any of those will probably be better off with the Apple Watch SE. If you already have an Apple Watch Series 6 and don’t want a larger screen, you can probably avoid upgrading this year. It’s our cheap smartwatch choice, and it doesn’t skimp on the fundamental smartwatch experience – you’ll have to lift your wrist to bring the screen to life. The Series 3 is also available for $199, although it is showing its age in our tests. We’d pay the additional $80 for the SE model.

You can also get cash for your existing Apple Watch, which you may use towards a Series 7. Decluttr accepts all models, and you may receive an additional $30 on your trade-in value by using the code “CNN2021.”

The apple watch series 7 colors is the latest in Apple’s line of smartwatch products. Preordering your new watch today will ensure you get the color you want.
